How to power up your swing These four moves will help you create some serious heat By Todd Sones Top 100 Teacher This story is for you if... • Your swing has always lacked power • You have no idea how to create power The problem You make decent contact but you never "explode" into the ball. You'd like 20 more yards off the tee and 10 more yards with each iron. (And, honestly, who wouldn't?) The solution Incorporate the following four keys into your swing and eliminate four flaws that deprive you of clubhead speed. You'll be longer with every club in your bag before you know it.

Key 2: Stretch it out START ... stretching your left shoulder behind the ball and extending your left arm as far as you can. You should feel a strong stretch in the left side of your torso. This creates max width and the potential for more speed.

Key 3: Shift forward START ... your downswing by shifting weight into your left hip. Feel like you're funneling all of your weight into the ground through your left heel. This will pull your club down instead of across and create lag power.
