The Royal and Ancient Golf Club and St. Andrews Links Trust recently announced several controversial changes to holes at the Old Course in preparation for the 2015 Open Championship. Graylyn Loomis, a student at the University of St. Andrews and author of the "Living As A Links Golfer" blog, took several pictures of the Old Course under construction. At the par-4 second hole, the two bunkers in the foreground are being filled in, and the two bunkers in the background are being added.

Travelin' Joe Passov recently spoke with Tiger Woods about the changes to the 11th green. Woods didn't think it was a big deal: "You'd have to be stupid to fire at that pin, because anything over the green, and you've got nothing. Guys are still going to take the middle of the green. That's why you see so many three-putts there."

The official press release stated, "The work will widen the Road Bunker on the 17th hole by half a metre at the right hand side and recontour a small portion of the front of the green to enable it to gather more approach shots landing in that area."

Woods did say he was unsure about the changes to 17: "I think 17 is hard enough as it is. I don't think we need to make that bunker any deeper or bigger."
