Fuzzy Zoeller at the 1987 Skins Game. Zoeller provided one of the Skins Game's lightest moments in 1985, according to SI's Gary Van Sickle. "Zoeller rolled in a 15-foot birdie putt at the 12th hole with $150,000 on the line. It figured to be a halve, however, because Jack Nicklaus had a short putt for birdie to tie him. Nicklaus missed and Zoeller walked over and planted a wet kiss on Jack's cheek (although Zoeller sneaked the back of his hand between his lips and Jack's cheek). Even a stunned Nicklaus had to laugh.Zoeller walked over and planted a wet kiss on Jack's cheek (although Zoeller sneaked the back of his hand between his lips and Jack's cheek). There is only one greatest moment in Skins Game history and everybody knows it. It happened in 1987 when Lee Trevino, one of the game's most colorful characters, holed a 6-iron from 167 yards for an ace on the island-green, par-3 17th at PGA West. After the shot disappeared into the cup, there was a moment of stunned silence. "He was speechless," Jack Nicklaus joked later. "I think that's the first time in my life I've heard him shut up." The gallery erupted in cheers and Trevino bounced around the tee box and waved his cap a few times before jumping into the arms of his good friend and long-time caddie, Herman Mitchell, who is a large man. The hole-in-one earned Trevino $175,000 and was part of his sweep of all the skins ($285,000 worth) over the last nine holes. Of course, the talkative Trevino didn't remain silent. Asked about the shot later, he said, "It looked like a Rembrandt." --Gary Van Sickle, Sports Illustrated
