WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational betting odds: Favorites and underdogs in Memphis

July 23, 2019

Major season is officially over following the Open Championship, and the final five weeks of the 2018-19 PGA Tour campaign are here as the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational gets underway this week at TPC Southwind in Memphis.

Dustin Johnson and Rory McIlroy each enter this week’s tournament as the betting favorites to win at 10/1 odds. Both are coming off disappointing performances at Royal Portrush, as DJ finished T51 and Rory failed to even make the cut in his home country. While Johnson’s looking for his first Tour win since the WGC-Mexico Championship this past February, McIlroy is seeking his first triumph since the RBC Canadian Open last month.

The second-best odds this week belong to Brooks Koepka and Jon Rahm at 12/1 odds. Koepka and Rahm are both coming off strong showings in the final major of the year, as Koepka tallied a T4 finish while Rahm notched a T11 result. The No. 1 player in the world Koepka is going for his first victory since the PGA Championship this past May, while Rahm is looking for his second win this month after capturing the Irish Open a few weeks back.

Justin Thomas enters with the third-best odds to win this week at 16/1. Thomas also finished T11 at Portrush this past week, and he hasn’t won on Tour in almost a year. In fact, his most recent victory came in what this WGC event used to be called: the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational in Ohio.
