Tiger Woods might be out of commission after having back surgery but he’s already making his plans for fall.
According to Woods’ agent Mark Steinberg, Woods will compete in something called “the America’s Cup” in Argentina in October. Details remain sketchy but Woods will apparently play with Matt Kuchar, another Steinberg client. ESPN.com has the report:
Mark Steinberg, agent for both players, confirmed on Sunday that discussions are taking place for the October 21-26 event called the Americas Cup that has a yet-to-be determined format.
“I’m working on it,” Steinberg said at Augusta National, where Kuchar finished tied for fifth at the Masters. “There’s several things being discussed, and I would say it’s likely but we are trying to put something together.”
Woods had surgery to repair a pinched nerve in his back on March 31. According to a statement on his website, Woods hopes to return to the PGA Tour “sometime this summer.” Woods did not attend the Masters Champions Dinner this year, the first time he’s missed the dinner since winning the Masters in 1997. According to Steinberg, Woods’s doctors told him has to be “very still” at this stage of his recovery.
