Jordan Spieth’s path to victory at the Tour Championship at East Lake wasn’t that different than his four other victories this season–he dominated the field on the greens.
En route to a FedEx Cup Playoffs victory and the $10 million prize, Spieth led the field in strokes gained putting at East Lake and finished T1 in one-putt percentage (50 percent), first in putting from inside five feet (100 percent), T3 in putts per round (27.75) and T3 in overall putting average. He was also first in putting from 20-25 feet, making four of 10 attempts in that range.
Spieth’s Scotty Cameron 009 prototype putter was once again the difference maker. He’s used the same putter since his days as a junior golfer but switched to a backup at the BMW Championship before switching back for the Tour Championship.
For the 2014-15 season, Spieth ranked ninth in strokes gained putting, first in putting average, overall putting percentage and one-putt percentage (44.26 percent) and first in putts per round (27.82).
