Editor’s Picks: 3 things I bought for my buddies golf trip (all for under $150!)

February 3, 2020

If you’re a golfer and have traveled the globe for some epic buddies trips, then you know what it’s like to do that last-minute binge on all the items you thought you had but actually need to upgrade. That’s exactly what happened to me a couple of weeks ago as I was getting ready to board a flight and head for warmer temperatures. I was a few key items short. Here’s what I picked up.

Golf belt

Under Armour Braided Belt 2.0

Under Armour Braided Belt 2.0

I was due for a belt upgrade and this gray number caught my attention. First off, I love the casual braided look, and it’s different from other more standard belts I own. Secondly, I ordered this online and wasn’t sure on sizing, but since you can fasten the belt wherever you please I didn’t have to overthink it; no returns necessary. It looked great on the course and I was able to wear it with everything else I brought too.

Spikeless golf shoes

Nike Men's Vapor Golf Shoes

Nike Vapor Golf Shoes

I’ve been in the market for some spikeless golf shoes for a while now, and I finally pulled the trigger just in time for this trip. These Nike Men’s Vapors were an easy decision. I have Nike running shoes that fit great so thought I’d give their golf shoes a try. I loved the design and color options but eventually settled on the black-and-red scheme, and these have a cool, casual look that were great to wear pre- and post-round. They were a little squeaky — I’m guessing I’ll wear them in — but were comfortable, and that’s what is most important to me. Plus, check out that price — this was a value buy for sure. (One note if you plan to order these before trying them on: they run small. I had to go up a full size from my normal golf shoe.

Golf pants

Under Armour Men's Match Play Golf Pant

Under Armour Match Play Golf Pant

I had a pair of Under Armour golf pants years ago and loved the fit and look, so it was one of the first brands I checked out when I decided I needed to beef up my wardrobe. They were light, soft, stretchy and comfortable — a.k.a. an ideal match for any golfer.
