Donald Trump Blasts Bandon Dunes, Calls Course ‘A Toy’

October 20, 2015

Bandon Dunes Golf Resort in Southern Oregon is one of the premier golf destinations in the world, but to real estate-magnate-turned-presidential-candidate Donald Trump, that doesn’t mean much.

The Donald took a break from tweeting about the latest poll results to take a social-media swing at one of the world’s best golf courses — and plug a few of his own courses in the process.

Could this just be sour grapes? In GOLF Magazine’s latest ranking of the Top 100 Courses in the World, the resort’s crown jewel Pacific Dunes came in at No. 21, just ahead of Trump’s highest-ranked course, Turnberry (Ailsa) at No. 23.

David McLay Kidd, the architect who designed the Bandon Dunes’ eponymous first course, weighed in but stayed above the fray, killing Trump with kindness.
