British Open 2016: Graeme McDowell Plays Defense at Troon

If you’re going to try and beat G-Mac on the golf course, you’re going to have to earn it.

It’s not uncommon for players to battle in a friendly match during practice rounds, and often times they’ll put some coin on the line to make things interesting. That might have been the case with Graeme McDowell and Shane Lowry during a British Open practice round Wednesday..

In the below video you will see Lowry hit a long putt, but just as the ball is about to reach the hole McDowell channels his inner Steph Curry and throws his ball at Lowry’s, causing the putt to miss and producing a “C’mon man!” type of reaction from the Irishman. If this match was for money, Lowry should get a refund.

Emiliano Grillo, who was playing with the two at Troon, called the shot by G-Mac “cold blooded.” We’d have to agree.
