While you’ve no doubt seen the likes of Jordan Spieth, Hunter Mahan, and Gary Woodland sporting Under Armour apparel on the PGA Tour, you might not have noticed that Spieth, Woodland, and others are also wearing the company’s shoes.
Though Under Armour golf shoes haven’t been available before, starting on April 6 a limited edition Drive One shoe ($179.99) will be offered on underarmour.com in celebration of the 2015 Masters.
Features of the new Drive 1 include ArmourVent and OutDry technologies to maintain a cool, waterproof environment, a cleat-like carbon heel counter for enhanced stability, Micro G cushioning foam for comfort, and CHAMP Zarma Tour spikes with a new SLIM-Lok System for maximum grip during the swing.
The new SLIM-LOK System is notable in that it is ultra-thin and extremely light, and also required less raw material to manufacture than traditional spikes. The result is thinner outsoles, lighter shoes and more comfort.
The Drive 1 is also designed with an anatomically engineered outsole for more natural and dynamic movement throughout the course of a round. Look for Jordan Spieth to be sporting the new kicks throughout next week’s Masters Tournament.
