Category: Fairway Woods
We tested: 15°, 18° with Miyazaki Dromos graphite shaft
Key Technologies: The STAR-fitting system allows you to change lie and face angle (12 adjustable positions) to produce your preferred trajectory and shot shape. A smaller, more traditional profile combines with the light Maraging steel clubface to deliver a boring ball flight.
OUR TESTERS SAY: Among the best woods in its class; the Z-Star excels in playability, accuracy/forgiveness and feel.
PLAYABILITY: Testers can draw and fade shots at will; a pleasure to hit off tight lies.
ACCURACY/FORGIVENESS: Shots rarely stray off-line, making the adjustable hosel almost unnecessary; good direction and distance on mis-hits.
DISTANCE: Very repeatable length; average to above average on best hits.
FEEL: Head is easy to locate and manipulate during swing and very stable through impact; crisp, energetic sensation at contact.
LOOK: These woods are all business – traditional size and shape, black paint job; more compact than most of the woods in this category.
Not a world-beater in terms of distance; a few testers find the clubhead gets caught up in rough fairly easily.

The fairway metals have 12 adjustable face- and lie-angle configurations to customize the club to fit a specific swing or desired ball flight. Like the driver, the fairways also have the Starburst variable face design and the Miyazaki Dromos shaft.
