Ping Cadence TR B65 Putter

Category: Midsize Mallet Putters
Price: $170
34”, 35” shaft lengths
KEY TECHNOLOGIES: The B65 comes in a choice of two head weights— 340 or 365 grams.

DISTANCE CONTROL: Tops in this category, the Ping Cadence TR B65 provides a smooth, reliable roll with just enough forgiveness; testers say it promotes stress-free putting—it gets the ball tracking on line quickly and quietly; even the occasional jabby stroke can produce a decent roll.
FEEL: The B65 is the best of the bunch; our experts rave about its stable, balanced head and mild manner on mis-hits; putts feel like they’re poured out of the face rather than struck, with just enough feedback to learn from; the overall weighting helps promote a rhythmic, repeatable stroke.
LOOK: A blade-style mid-mallet, the B65 has a black head with a thick, contrasting white alignment aid that testers love; the standard shape and size are comforting, and the look doesn’t venture too far from what you’d expect out of Ping.

A few testers say the shape is a bit too bladelike for their liking; one or two guys find it too soft and say the feedback is too subdued.

BOTTOM LINE: The Ping Cadence TR B65 is one of the best putters in the test. Traditionalists will appreciate its shape and feel, but the modern advancements are clear. This putter excels in each category and shines brightest on lag putts.
