KEY TECHNOLOGIES: Sharper, tighter-patterned grooves than previous models are supplemented by milled "micro edges" on the face to increase spin on full or partial shots.
PLAYABILITY: Best-in-show versatility; very good on everything from flops to full swings; with so many bounces and sole grinds, there’s a Vokey to fit every shot.
DISTANCE CONTROL: Perfectly predictable, shot after shot; no hot spots to speak of; spin control is outstanding — easy to dial back for runners, or zip into tucked pins.
FEEL: Heavyish head contributes to a rich, brawny sensation through the ball; not the softest forging but still a satisfying feel; instructive, articulate feedback on poor hits.
LOOK: Time-honored head shape; well proportioned, with nothing out of place.
A fairly demanding wedge with a small sweet spot — takes some practice to deliver on its potential; choosing the correct bounce and grind is essential, but can be confusing for weekend golfers.
BOTTOM LINE: One of the best wedges tested. This short-game tool has everything a player needs to have fun around the greens.
