After constantly knocking on the door in major championships, and recording eight top-10s in the big four events since 2010, Jason Day finally broke through for his first major victory at the PGA Championship at Whistling Straits.
The 27-year-old Aussie finished three strokes ahead of Jordan Spieth to win his first major championship, and did so on the strength of an incredible ball striking performance. He led the field in strokes/gained tee-to-green and averaged over 305 yards off the tee while finishing T5 in driving accuracy. He also finished 13th in strokes gained/putting for the tournament, and led the field in that statistic during the final round.
Day plays a 10.5° TaylorMade R15 driver with a Mitsubishi Rayon Kuro Kage Silver 70-gram shaft. His irons are TaylorMade RSi TP (3-PW) with True Temper Dynamic Golf X7 shafts, and his putter is a custom TaylorMade Ghost Spider IB. See photos of each below.
