Ashworth has released the second and third limited-edition shirts in their Majors Series, both of which were inspired by U.S. Open victories (the first shirt celebrated Fred Couples’ Masters win). Of the two new models, the first commemorates Justin Rose’s win at at Merion last year and is limited to 281 units. The shirt features Rose’s signature inside-the-back neck area and has white contrast piping on the chest and sleeve cuff.
“I wore Ashworth when I won my first major championship at Merion and I’m proud to wear it on tour every week,” said Rose. “I’m honored by this special piece commemorating my U.S. Open Championship and look forward to having it on as I defend my championship at Pinehurst this year.”
The second new model commemorates Retief Goosen’s U.S. Open victory at Shinnecock in ’04, which was his second U.S. Open win. The shirt has Goosen’s signature in the back neck area and contrast coloring on the collar and is limited to 276 units.
“I genuinely love the style and feel of Ashworth Golf apparel,” said Goosen. “To have a golf shirt designed to celebrate my major victory is an honor, and I’m proud to wear it on the tenth anniversary of my second U.S. Open Championship victory.”
Rose and Goosen will wear their respective shirts in the first round of the upcoming U.S. Open at Pinehurst.
