TaylorMade released its new, adjustable R9 driver last Monday, and Pat Perez and 12 other pros had one in their bags at the Bob Hope Classic, making it the most-used driver at the event.
When he was asked about his new driver, here’s what Perez had to say:
I’m not just saying this because I play it, but I’m telling you it’s the best driver I’ve ever hit. And I’ve tried a lot. It’s got the screw-in at the bottom, you screw the shaft in deal. I got it on Monday, I told the guy I had to try this thing. … It’s unbelievable.
According to TaylorMade, Perez set his R9 with a face that is 1° open with the lie angle set between neutral and right.
