Winds force suspension of play in Dunhill Links

ST. ANDREWS, Scotland (AP) Gale force winds have forced the postponement of the third round at the Dunhill Links Championship without a shot being played.

With all three venues – The Old Course, Carnoustie and Kingsbarns – deemed unplayable Saturday, the possibility of any action was abandoned before 10:00 a.m. local time.

The third round will now be played on Sunday with the final round, comprising the top 60 from the 168-man field, scheduled for Monday at the Old Course in St. Andrews.

There was a three-way tie for the lead after Friday’s second round, with Northern Ireland’s Rory McIlroy and Michael Hoey along with Richie Ramsay of Scotland all 11 under.
