Edfors wins by 2 on on Asian Tour

BANGKOK(AP) Johan Edfors of Sweden recovered from a double bogey on the 16th hole with two birdies for a 4-under 68 and a two-shot victory in the Black Mountain Masters on Sunday.

Prayad Marksaeng had reason to celebrate, too, closing with an 8-under 64 to tie for second. That appears to be enough for Prayad to move into the top 50 in the world and earn a trip to Augusta National for the Masters.

Edfors went wire-to-wire for his Asian Tour victory, although he nearly threw it away with a tee shot that landed next to a tree on the 16th hole. That led to a double bogey and dropped him into a tie for the lead, but he birdied the last two holes.

Edfors finished at 17-under 271.

“I guess I made it too exciting,” he said. “I wasn’t planning on doing that. I made a couple of poor shots and bad decisions and then had to really fight for it at the end.”

Prayad tied for second at 273 with Chris Rodgers of England, who shot a 68.

Anirban Lahiri had a 68 to finish alone in fourth, while Indian compatriot Gaganjeet Bhullar set the course record with a 63 to tie for fifth with the Thai pair of Chapchai Nirat (67) and Thongchai Jaidee (68).

Prayad received a special exemption to Augusta National last year, but had to withdraw because of a back injury.
