The deadline to sign up for the World’s Largest Golf Outing, an event that raises funds for the Wounded Warrior Project, is Friday, July 31.

So far, more than 8,100 golfers have signed up to play, and nearly 500—a record—Wounded Warrior Alumni have signed on for the Monday, Aug. 3, tournament.

The WLGO, which started in 2011, is played on more than 140 courses and has raised nearly $2 million for the WWP. $483,601 has been raised so far this year.

The WLGO is open to all golfers, and a USGA handicap is not needed. Players can sign up as singles, twosomes or foursomes for the four-person scramble.

All players are entered into a drawing for a trip for four to the Nike Campus in Beaverton, Oregon, for custom club fitting, and the highest fundraising team wins a trip for four to Kiawah Island Golf Resort to play the Ocean Course, host of the 2012 PGA Championship.
