Professional golfers throwing their clubs is a time-honored tradition.

Ian Poulter added something new to club-toss history Friday at the Scottish Open.

Playing the 599-yard, par-5 16th hole at Gullane Golf Club, Poulter was struggling on the back nine with four bogeys and one birdie in the first six holes.

That's when he uncorked this slice and accompanying club toss:


Bad as it may have seemed to Poulter at the time, he scrambled for par and birdied the next hole. He finished with a 1-over 71.
