Wake Forest to Add Arnold Palmer's Initials Onto Basketball Uniforms

Arnold Palmer: Remembering The King
The late Arnold Palmer was so much more than a business man and golfer -- he was also an entertainer. Sports Illustrated's Michael Bamberger and GOLF.com's Jeff Ritter join GOLF Today to share their fondest personal memories of The King.

Arnold Palmer's legacy will continue to live on during the Wake Forest basketball season.

According to uni-watch.com, the Demon Deacons will wear a "AP" patch on their jerseys this season. Palmer played on the Wake Forest golf team, winning the 1949 and 1950 NCAA championships before leaving to serve in the coast guard. This patch is in addition to the university honoring Palmer in several other ways the rest of the season.

From a previous release: "All competitive athletic fields will have Palmer's distinctive multi-color umbrella logo on or near the playing surface. All Athletic teams will sport a logo honoring Palmer on all jerseys. The Demon Deacon football team will have a helmet sticker honoring Palmer. The Wake Forest football team will carry a flag bearing the umbrella logo when it takes the field for all remaining football games."

Check out a preview of what the jersey will look like below.
