It was an exciting second round at the 2015 U.S. Open at Chambers Bay, as players battled the course and themselves to get into contention for the weekend. When the dust settled on Friday, 75 competitors remained to fight another day.

Masters champion Jordan Spieth fired a three-under 67 to tie Patrick Reed for the lead at five under. Dustin Johnson struggled at the end of his round, but his 71 was good enough to leave him neck-and-neck with South African Branden Grace, one shot behind the leaders.

Tiger Woods was sent home after a disappointing two-round total of 16 over, while Rory McIlroy and Phil Mickelson barely survived to play the weekend.
