Pro golfers, media members, analysts and more chimed in on Twitter to voice their opinions on Muirfield's vote to not allow women members, as well as the R&A deciding it should pull the club from future consideration for Open Championships.
Both decisions were major ones in the golf world. Muirfield has hosted 16 British Opens -- most recently in 2013 when Phil Mickelson won -- and pulling a course off the Open rota is no minor move.
After the news hit, golf legends like Sir Nick Faldo and Gary Player took to Twitter with their take, as did others such as LPGA commissioner Michael Whan and LPGA pro Catriona Matthew, who is from the East Lothian area.
