When you're Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen, you can pretty much get access to anywhere you want, right?
Maybe not, especially when it comes to highly exclusive golf clubs like The Country Club in Brookline, just outside of Boston.
According to multiple reports, the power couple has submitted an application for membership at TCC, which is close to their new multi-million dollar home. But it might not be that easy to get in.
A paragraph in The Boston Globe reads: "...the 133-year-old institution prizes privacy and discretion above all else. And Brady and Bundchen, trailed as they often are by paparazzi, and occasionally controversy, attract the sort of attention abhorred by the multimillionaires who belong to the primrose playground on Clyde Street in Chestnut Hill."
While not much is known about specific members (tight-lipped as the club is), the strenuous membership process is available. TCC applicants need to be sponsored by two current club members, and must provide an admissions committee with seven testimonials from people they have personal relationships with. Then there's an initiation-like cocktail party stage before the committee makes the final decision. Oh, and all members get to take a look at who is applying, too (even if they don't all have a say).
Brookline has hosted the U.S. Open three times, the Ryder Cup once and boasts impressive recreational facilities from a curling rink to tennis courts and an Olympic-sized pool.
Brady is an avid golfer; he participates in the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am frequently, played a practice round at Augusta with Rory McIlroy earlier this year, and back in March, destroyed golf buddy Keegan Bradley 6&5 in a match.
Could this be the one club that's too exclusive, even for Tom Brady? Only time—likely not the members—will tell.
