Tiger Watches Stanford Football Weekend Before Return to PGA Tour

Tiger Woods Officially Commits to Safeway Open
Tiger Woods announced Friday his official participation in the Safeway Open, his first competitive event since August 2015.

Tiger Woods stopped to support his alma mater before he tees off for the first time in 14 months at the Safeway Open on Thursday in Napa, Calif.

Woods was on hand to see Washington State upset his 15th-ranked Cardinals football team 42-16 on Saturday, and social media proves he smiled for plenty of folks looking for photos with the 14-time major champion.

One of the pictures was with Stanford senior Maverick McNealy, the No. 1-ranked amateur golfer in the world, and fellow Cardinals alum and PGA Tour player Patrick Rodgers. Rodgers and McNealy both tweeted the snap with Woods.
