CHASKA, Minn. – The opening tee shot of the Ryder Cup is one of the most electric scenes in golf. Saturday morning at Hazeltine continued that tradition.

On Friday, chants of the old-standby "U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A!" were the most popular with plenty of "I Believe" cheers sprinkled in. But on Saturday morning, the fans busted out the big gun -- with a rousing rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner. Fans belted out the anthem as the sun rose over the first grandstand, and if that wasn't enough to pump up the U.S. team, then there's nothing more we can do for them.

It did seem to work: The duo of Rickie Fowler and Phil Mickelson were first off the tee and promptly birdied the opening hole.

Thanks to SB Nation's Brendan Porath for the video.

Later in the round, the crowds seranaded Jordan Spieth and Patrick Reed as they approached a green. They, of course, put their hand over their hearts. The All-American duo is 3 up through 10 holes over Sergio Garcia and Rafa Cabrera Bello.
