Sports Illustrated senior writer Alan Shipnuck took first in two categories at the 2015 Golf Writers Association of America Writing Contest, giving him nine total first-place nods in his career.

Shipnuck won in the Non-Daily News category with his story “Anthony Kim, MIA” and won again in Special Projects with his story titled “The Greatest U.S. Open Ever.”

Shipnuck also earned a second place in Non-Daily Features, was third in each Daily Features and Non-Daily Columns and was honorable mention in Non-Daily News.

Sports Illustrated’s Michael Bamberger was honorable mention in three categories, and Golf.com's Mike Walker also received an honorable mention.

The winners will be honored at the ISPS HANDA GWAA 43rd Annual Awards Dinner on April 8 at Savannah Rapids Pavilion in August, Ga.
