Watch: Westwood Misses Short Putt, Blows Half Point for Europe

Ryder Cup Saturday in 54 Seconds
Jeff Ritter recaps a crazy Ryder Cup Saturday from Hazeltine in under a minute.

Today was not Lee Westwood's day at the Ryder Cup. On the 18th green, he missed a short putt for birdie that would have tied the match and scored a half point for Europe. His miss handed the full point to his American opponents, J.B. Holmes and Ryan Moore. Danny Willett, Westwood's partner, also missed his birdie putt.

Westwood's mistake was particularly brutal because it followed another missed putt at the 17th.

Many questioned Darren Clarke's decision to play Westwood today despite a less than stellar performance on Friday. His mishap at the 18th unfortunately reinforced that criticism.

This is Westwood's 10th Ryder Cup apperance.
