Before this Ryder Cup, both Webb Simpson and Hunter Mahan talked about how difficult it was to watch the Europeans celebrate after their wins in 2012 at Medinah and 2010 in Wales. So last night must have been especially tough if this interview with Jamie Donaldson is any indication.

Donaldson, who ended up getting the decisive point to keep the Cup for Europe in his 4 and 3 drubbing of Keegan Bradley, was interview by Sky Sports the morning after what sounds like a legendary Team Europe celebration at Gleneagles, even by their impressive standards.

“Quiet, we chatted about all the team talks, the putts we didn’t hole and the yardages that weren’t quite correct,” Donaldson jokes about the post-Cup party. “No….it was very heavy. All the guys got together and had a great time.”

Then the reporter asks, “Are you able to take it in yet, claiming the winning point in this Ryder Cup?”

Donaldson’s response, “No, because I’m still drunk.”
