One birdie got in the way of another during the second round of the Open Championship on Friday.

Rory McIlroy had to back off his birdie putt on the 8th hole at Royal Liverpool after a pheasant scooted across the green.

Unperturbed, McIlroy waited for the bird to move along, drained his putt and extended his lead.
