The Ryder Cup captain’s pick schedule differs on each side of the Atlantic Ocean, and Rory McIlroy does not agree with it.
The 27-year-old believes Team USA may gain an edge by filling out the roster a couple of weeks after Team Europe. "I find that a little strange and I think people looking in from the outside feel that way, too," McIlroy told GolfWeek.
"We’ve shown them our cards," he continued before saying the Americans could, for example, add more long hitters to their team to build a distance advantage on the European squad.
In McIlroy’s perfect world, both teams would make their selections at the same time. In reality, however, the American team will add three players Monday evening and one more pick Sunday night after the Tour Championship.
