Lee Horner of Leeds, England, was on the other end of this throw from Rory McIlroy at Royal Liverpool.

Give the guys at New Jersey's Green Jacket Auctions credit -- they know a great piece of golf memorabilia when they see it and are willing to pay the price to get it.

You can now bid on the Nike RZN Black golf ball, stamped with "RORS", that McIlroy used to win his third career major at Royal Liverpool on July 20. Shortly after McIlroy's British Open victory, Green Jacket Auctions took to Twitter to track down the lucky fan:

Word spread quickly, helped by a tweet from ESPN sports business reporter Darren Rovell to his more than 488,000 followers and, just like that, Green Jacket obtained the ball from Lee Horner of Leeds, England.

Bidding began at $1,000 and is at $2,852 through Monday morning.
