A portion of a Florida state road will be named after the late Arnold Palmer, according to reports from the Golf Channel.

Pending the approval of state legislators, a section of S.R. 408 in Orlando, from Kirkman Road to Clarke Road, will be renamed the Arnold Palmer Expressway. Central Florida Expressway board members approved the motion on Thursday, October 13.

The 62-time PGA Tour champion passed away September 25 at the age of 87.

Aside from his club at Bay Hill, Palmer left an indelible mark on the Central Florida landscape; none greater than his two hospitals, the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and the Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies.
