The 16th hole at the Phoenix Open is a pressure-packed arena where fan favorites are drunkenly cheered and villains are mercilessly booed. Players deal with the stress in different ways.

Ian Poulter decided his best course of action was to attempt a six-foot birdie putt using only one hand. Naturally, he missed. Poults didn't have a great tournament going but was only two shots outside the projected cutline. He tapped in for par after his birdie try missed, then closed the round par-bogey to finish at 4-over for the tournament and will miss the cut.

Poulter explained his approach on Twitter after the round.

The fans at the 16th had already given him the business during Thursday's round.
