Jack Nicklaus says that Donald Trump will have his vote if Trump's name is on the ticket for the 2016 presidential election.

Nicklaus spoke to CBS Sunday Morning's Jim Axelrod about his relationship with the business mogul through their golf course design work, calling their partnership 'terrific.' Trump and Nicklaus' latest venture, the Trump Golf Links at Ferry Point, opened in New York in April 2015.

The 76-year-old hesitated when asked about Trump's political strategies, but did admit that he liked what Trump has done thus far in stirring up political discourse in the United States.

"He's turning America upside down," Nicklaus told CBS. "He's awakening the country."

The 18-time major winner also believes that whatever Trump lacks in grace or political correctness can eventually be learned. He went on to praise Trump for his treatment of their business relationship, calling him a 'good man.'

"Certainly," Nicklaus said, "If he's the one that's on the ticket, I'll be voting for him."

Donald Trump may play the game by his own rules, but he'd still be the strongest golfer in the history of the Oval Office.
