Michelle Wie Withdraws From Kingsmill With Hip Injury

Michelle Wie: 3 Swing Thoughts for Better Drives
2014 U.S. Women's Open champ Michelle Wie shares three things she focuses on to improve her drives.

Michelle Wie withdrew from the Kingsmill LPGA Championship Thursday after a disappointing 7-over 78, citing a lingering hip injury.

The 2014 U.S. Women's Open champion has struggled with various ailments over the past year, including two other WDs at last year's Meijer LPGA Classic and the Evian Championship. After recovering from a persistent finger injury, Wie is now dealing with her hip.

Spectators at the event noticed a limp when Wie went to hand in her card. She took to Twitter afterwards to announce the news.

Wie was just two spots from the bottom of the leaderboard at Kingsmill before pulling the plug. She is still in search of her first top-10 finish this season.
