Golf balls land in water hazards all the time. Players generally don’t go retrieving their balls from any hazards. But a hat, now that’s another story, which became clear this week in Hawaii at the LPGA Lotte Championship.

One spectator at the event lost his hat in a gust of wind alongside a pond at the course. This particular fan didn't like the idea of losing his hat, so the only option was to jump into the hazard and retrieve his headgear.

He succeeded, though there was a victim in the recovery: his beer can took the plunge when he was trying to get out.
