Kevin Chappell Won Lots of Money for 2nd Place at the Players

Finishing in second place at the Players Championship, like Kevin Chappell did, still gives you quite the paycheck.

It's not a major tournament, but the Players Championship does feature the largest purse in golf.

So here is one reason you shouldn't feel too bad for runner-up Kevin Chappell, who finished four strokes behind Jason Day. The 29-year-old Chappell still wins over $1 million.

You read that right. Day takes home nearly $2 million with his $1.89 million paycheck, but Chappell is right behind with a $1.13 million payday. That's more than Charley Hoffman and Branden Grace took home for winning the Valero Texas Open and RBC Heritage, respectively, last month.

Professional golf, it's a good gig if you can get it.

You can feel for Ken Duke, who missed a birdie putt that, in the moment, cost him $420,000 as he wound up T3.
