Organizers of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship are giving the people what they want.
Jordan Spieth, Rory McIlroy and Rickie Fowler will be grouped together for the first two rounds of this week's European Tour event in Abu Dhabi. Their opening round will begin at 10:40 p.m. EST Wednesday night, and the trio tees off at 3:05 a.m. EST for Friday's second round. Coverage on the Golf Channel begins at 10:30 p.m. EST on Wednesday.
The marquee group puts three of the world's top players together for 36 holes. Spieth is ranked No. 1 in the world, McIlroy is ranked third and Fowler is sixth.
Spieth is coming off a dominating victory at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions two weeks ago, and this will be the first time he and McIlroy face off in the same field in 2016. Fifth-ranked Henrik Stenson is also in the field this week, and he'll play his first two rounds with Martin Kaymer and Gary Stahl.
