Just 24 hours after his U.S. Open victory at Chambers Bay, Jordan Spieth was a topic of conversation during Jimmy Fallon’s monologue on The Tonight Show on Monday. As per usual in the golf world, it wouldn’t seem right without mentioning Tiger Woods.
“I want to say congrats to Jordan Spieth, who won the U.S. Open yesterday in golf,” Fallon began. ”And I want to say congrats to Tiger Woods who found an old locket while he was retrieving his ball from the lake. Could be worth money, who knows.
“That’s right, 21-year-old Jordan Spieth won the U.S. Open. You can tell he’s young, because he’s never heard of any of the products they advertise during golf tournaments. He's like, 'What the hell is Levitra?'”
Fallon’s golf commentary begins at the 4:30 mark in the video below. He eventually discusses the much-maligned course conditions at Chambers Bay with a comical sketch where a made putt jumps out of the cup at the sound of a cough.
This isn't the first time Fallon has made golf a part of his show. During the 2014 PGA Championship, the show debuted PGA Tour Superlatives. Then, after the event, Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy both visited as guests in a Facebreakers skit.
