Jason Day Drive: Australian Town to Name Street After Champion Golfer

A Conversation With Jason Day
GOLF magazine Executive Editor Connell Barrett sits down with 2015 PGA Championship winner Jason Day, the subject of the magazine's November Issue.

This could be the longest Jason Day drive yet.

According to The Sydney Morning Herald, the town of Beaudesert, Australia will name a street after its long-hitting native son.

Fittingly, the new street will be named "Jason Day Drive."

World No. 2 Day grew up in Beaudesert, a town of about 6,000 in the Queensland region of Australia south of Brisbane, and learned to play golf at the Beaudesert Golf Club.

Day's profile rose significantly following his breakthrough victory at the 2015 PGA Championship at Whistling Straits, and Scenic Rim mayor John Brent said residents have been urging him to acknowledge Day's achievements on the golf course.

"His connection to Beaudesert and the Scenic Rim and his continued success is a source of immense pride for the community," Brent said. "Jason's prowess on the international golf circuit over the past year has certainly shone a global spotlight on Beaudesert and the wider region."
