Hank Haney: Big Three Can't Compare to Tiger Woods

Tiger Woods circa 2016 is far from competing with the best players on the PGA Tour, but according to his former coach Hank Haney, none of the golfers dominating the game today could compare to Woods at his peak.

Haney said as much in this week's GOLF.com podcast.

"They're phenomenal players, but they're not even close to Tiger Woods. Let's make no mistake about it," Haney said. "The run that Jordan Spieth has been on -- he's top 5 in 18 out of his last 32 tournaments -- the last years I helped Tiger, he won 45 percent of his tournaments. He was top 10 85 percent of the time. Those percentages blow away anything Jordan Spieth has done."

"To me, no one has ever played the game like Tiger Woods."

While Haney lavished over the former world No. 1, he was also very complimentary of the current world No. 1 player, Jordan Spieth, saying comparisons of the two at age 22 are "real, and there's no doubt about it."

For that discussion and more, including Haney's questions about Greg Norman's tenure and exit at FOX, check out the podcast below.
