After critiquing swings all week on Golf.com, G-Mac finally got the chance to show off some of his own game at the RBC Canadian Open in Montreal. He’s been climbing up the leaderboard with a solid round Friday, but wouldn’t be there without an incredible eagle Thursday from 213 yards on the 11th at Royal Montreal.

The 476-yard par-4 is considered the most difficult hole on the course, and the stats would back it up if McDowell hadn’t dropped his first round bomb in there. Thus far, it’s playing just a hair easier than the par-4 4th, though two rounds remain to change that fact.

Lately, McDowell has been making an incredible push toward the Ryder Cup, winning the French Open after a top 10 finish at the Irish Open. He then rallied for another top 10 finish at the British Open and, now in the running for a victory this week, is looking more and more like a favorite at the PGA Championship in two weeks.
