For the first time in a decade, Graeme McDowell will not represent Team Europe at the Ryder Cup next month.
He’s quite disappointed about it. McDowell tweeted he was "gutted" that he won’t be taking part. He had been involved in the past four Ryder Cups, in which the Europeans won the most recent three. Instead, Darren Clarke’s captain’s picks landed with Thomas Pieters, Lee Westwood and Martin Kaymer.
He’s right. Despite winning the OHL Classic last fall, McDowell has missed the cut eight times on the PGA Tour since the beginning of March. McDowell’s lackluster season left him in 19th place on the World Points list.
