Exciting news, golf fans: is growing!

Early last year we launched a weekly e-magazine called SI Golf+ Digital. The publication has proved so popular -- and the demand for more stats, trends and insights so strong -- that we’re expanding the brand onto its own channel.

Don’t worry -- SI Golf+ Digital isn’t going anywhere. You’ll still get the same great product every Wednesday (for free!) on your desktops, phones and tablets. We’re simply giving you more of what you want on a more frequent basis, including deeper analysis of the tours and a closer look at the game’s hottest stories, events and trends.

Each Monday, for example, we’ll bring you the key stats that helped decide the previous week’s tournaments. We’ll also predict winners for the week ahead.

Look for new features, too. In a podcast series called “Golf’s Greatest,” we’ll explore some of the game’s most impactful stories and events through the eyes of the writers who covered them. Our scribes will take you behind the scenes of their reporting to places both familiar and exotic.

In our first installment, we chat with longtime Sports Illustrated senior writer John Garrity about his brilliant 1996 profile of Vijay Singh, which chronicled Singh’s long, strange journey from Fiji to the PGA Tour. Garrity describes his surprise sit-down with Fiji’s coup-leader-turned-prime-minister, Sitiveni Rabuka, and recounts the process of investigating Singh’s cheating scandal from the 1985 Indonesian Open, which led to his banishment from the Asian Tour.

Think you know golf? Test your wits against other golf fans’ in our U.S. Open trivia quiz. Expect more fun and games as the season progresses.

Finally, we want to hear from you. What do you like? What are we missing? Drop us a note at and let us know how we’re doing and what else you’d like to see on this new channel. We’re ready to evolve.

Happy reading -- and listening!
