Dustin Johnson and fiancée, Paulina Gretzky, daughter of Hockey Hall of Famer Wayne Gretzky, are expecting their first child.
Gretzky announced the news on Instagram Tuesday, saying “@djohnsonpga & i are so excited to finally share with you all our amazing news..we're having a baby!"
Johnson, 30, and Gretzky, 25, began dating in 2012 and announced their engagement last year.
Johnson will not compete at this week's Ryder Cup at Gleneagles in Scotland as he takes a "voluntary leave of absence" from the PGA Tour following a third failed drug test. The eight-time Tour winner was a member of the 2010 and 2012 Ryder Cup teams and had assured a spot on this year's squad before his leave. He has not played competitively since July, but despite missing the last seven Tour events and the entire FedEx Cup playoffs, Johnson still earned a $175,000 FedEx Cup bonus.
In a recent radio interview, Wayne said his family was sticking by Johnson through his "tough time" and that Johnson thinks his time away from golf will make him a better person.
