Dustin Johnson Misses Cut at PGA, Snaps Longest Active Streak on Tour

Dustin Johnson Blows Up the Big Three
With his win at the WGC-Bridgestone, Dustin Johnson leap-frogged Jordan Spieth to No. 2 in the Official World Golf Ranking. With DJ in the mix, is there any longer such a thing as a Big Three?

SPRINGFIELD, N.J. -- Dustin Johnson entered the PGA Championship as the favorite. He'll leave Friday finishing as one of the last players in the field.

Johnson shot a brutal seven-over 77 in Round 1, including making an absolute mess of the 18th when he hit his drive into the water and hit a tree with his second, making bogey.

Johnson was marginally better in Round 2, posting a two-over 72 but will still miss the cut, which will snap the longest active streak on Tour at 25 consecutive made cuts.

The No. 2 player in the world had a chance to take over the top spot in the World Golf Ranking depending on how the tournament shook out between himself and world No. 1 Jason Day.

Those hopes are gone, and soon too will be Johnson ... at least for this week.
