Nobody likes a cheat, especially on the golf course. Just ask those who have had the (dis)pleasure of playing golf with Donald Trump.
The presidential candidate and real estate mogul has been exposed by numerous playing partners, a few of them of celebrity status, as an alleged cheater. The Washington Post’s Ben Terris has compiled many such anecdotes in one place, leading with a story from former Sports Illustrated managing editor Mark Mulvoy, who said he once witnessed Trump cheat coming out of a rain delay during a round at Garden City in the mid 1990s.
The word “embellish” is almost synonymous with Trump’s name, and his golf game is no exception, according to past playing partners like Alice Cooper and Rick Reilly. A former caddie at Trump Bedminster told the Washington Post that while he never saw Trump bend the rules, a reputation for such behavior existed. Reilly said, "When it comes to cheating, [Trump's] an 11 on a scale of 1 to 10."
