An errant shot by Vijay Singh during a practice round at Royal Troon for the 2016 British Open sent British caddie William Cipinski to the hospital.

The shot was Singh 's tee shot on the seventh hole that wound up striking Cipinski, on the bag for American Marco Dawson, who was on the eighth green.

According to a Reuters report, the caddie didn 't suffer serious injuries and was taken to the hospital fully conscious.

Ciplinski, a Troon native, is expected to make it back in time to loop for the 52-year-old Dawson who qualified for the Open by winning the senior event at Sunningdale a year ago.
