Bud Cauley makes hole-in-one at Greenbrier and fans get paid $100 each

When Bud Cauley made an ace at the 18th hole on Sunday at the Greenbrier Classic, he didn’t buy a drink for everyone watching. They could buy their own.

As part of a promotion, fans watching the par-3 finishing hole each got $100 when Cauley knocked in his tee shot from 175 yards.

“I actually just found that out,” Cauley said about the $100 payments after his round. “I’m happy to help everybody out, including myself.”

Cauley finished T4 after his final round 64. However, that wasn’t good enough to get him into the British Open, according to the Associated Press. Cauley will have one more chance to qualify next week at the John Deere Classic.
